How do I know if I actually need therapy?
Many people wonder whether their struggles are “serious enough” to start therapy. In reality, therapy is not only for moments of crisis. Many people begin therapy because they feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, experience ongoing anxiety or emotional overwhelm, or want support navigating difficult life transitions.
Trauma therapy and individual counseling can help you understand how past experiences may still be influencing your emotions, relationships, and stress responses. If something in your life continues to feel heavy, confusing, or difficult to manage on your own, working with a therapist can help you gain clarity, develop coping skills, and feel more regulated. You do not have to wait until things feel unbearable to benefit from therapy.
What if I'm not sure where to start?
You don’t have to know exactly what type of therapy you need before reaching out. Many people contact me feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or simply knowing that something doesn’t feel right, they just aren’t sure what kind of support would help.
That’s okay. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
During your free 15-minute consultation, we’ll talk about what’s been bringing you here, the challenges you’re facing, and what you’re hoping will be different. From there, we’ll determine whether individual therapy, EMDR therapy, child or teen therapy, family therapy, or one of my psychoeducational groups is the best fit for your needs and goals.
Seeking support isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being willing to take the first step toward understanding yourself, healing, and creating meaningful change. Wherever you are in your journey, we’ll start there together.
Will therapy really help me?
That’s one of the most common questions people ask before starting therapy, and it’s a completely understandable one.
While no therapist can promise specific outcomes, many people find that therapy helps them better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, improve relationships, process difficult experiences, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, grief, life transitions, or relationship concerns, therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to heal, grow, and move forward.
Healing isn’t about “fixing” who you are. It’s about understanding your experiences, recognizing the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and learning new ways to respond with greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and resilience.
Therapy isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about discovering them together. My role isn’t to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you, provide evidence-based support, and help you build the tools and confidence to create meaningful, lasting change.
The hardest part is often taking the first step. You don’t have to do the rest alone
Why do I still feel affected by something that happened years ago?
Many people are surprised that experiences from years or even decades ago can still affect their emotions, relationships, thoughts, and stress responses today. If you’ve ever wondered, “Shouldn’t I be over this by now?” you’re not alone.
When something overwhelming or traumatic happens, the brain and nervous system don’t always have the opportunity to fully process what occurred. Instead, those experiences can remain “stuck,” causing your mind and body to react as though the danger is still present. This may show up as anxiety, overthinking, emotional triggers, difficulty trusting others, people-pleasing, feeling constantly on edge, or avoiding certain situations.
The good news is that healing is possible. Trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR therapy and other evidence-based treatments can help your brain process those experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. The goal isn’t to erase your memories; it’s to help you remember them without feeling controlled by them.
You don’t have to continue surviving something that ended years ago. Healing can help you move forward with greater peace, resilience, and a renewed sense of safety
What if I feel nervous about starting therapy?
Feeling nervous about starting therapy is completely normal. In fact, it’s one of the most common concerns people share before their first appointment. You may be wondering what to expect, whether you’ll have to talk about difficult experiences right away, or if therapy is really the right fit for you.
The good news is that therapy isn’t about having all the answers or sharing everything during your first session. It’s about creating a safe, supportive space where we can get to know one another, understand what’s bringing you here, and begin working toward your goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Whether you’re seeking support for anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or emotional overwhelm, you’ll never be pressured to discuss more than you’re ready to share. Healing happens through trust, and building that trust takes time.
Many clients also find that virtual therapy makes taking the first step feel a little easier by allowing them to begin therapy from the comfort and privacy of their own home. If an in-person option is available and better fits your needs, we’ll discuss that together.
The hardest part is often scheduling that first appointment. After that, you don’t have to navigate the journey alone.
What can I expect during my first therapy session?
Your first therapy session is simply a conversation; a chance for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brought you here. There is no pressure to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or share every detail of your story.
We’ll spend time talking about what’s been weighing on you, your current concerns, your personal history, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I’ll also answer any questions you have about the therapeutic process, discuss how I work, and help you understand what treatment may look like moving forward.
Most importantly, the first session is about creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. Therapy moves at your pace. Whether you’re seeking support for anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or emotional overwhelm, we’ll work together to develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and goals.
You don’t need to have the “right words” or know exactly where to begin. Showing up is enough. From there, we’ll take the next steps together
Do you offer virtual or in-person therapy?
I primarily provide secure virtual therapy for clients throughout Florida, making it easier to access care from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Depending on the service, availability, and your individual needs, select in-person appointments or groups may also be available. During your consultation, we’ll discuss which option is the best fit for you.
How long are sessions?
Session length varies depending on the type of service and your individual needs.
Individual therapy sessions are typically 45–55 minutes.
Family therapy sessions are generally 90 minutes to allow time for meaningful discussion and collaboration.
Trauma 101 and other psychoeducational group sessions typically last 2 hours, providing time for education, discussion, and practical skill-building.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss the service that’s right for you and review what you can expect, including session length and frequency
Can I cancel or reschedule session?
You may always call or email us to cancel or reschedule an appointment (email is hello@letstalkpsychotherapy.org). The policy is that all cancellations and reschedules must be 24 hours before the scheduled appointment to avoid a fee. Late cancellations and no shows have a $150 fee, that is charged to the client. Insurance cannot be charged for this fee
How do I know which type of therapy is right for me?
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. Whether you’re considering individual therapy, EMDR therapy, family therapy, child or teen therapy, or for a psychoeducational groups, we’ll discuss your concerns, goals, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll determine the approach that best fits your unique needs.
Frequently Asked Questions About Child & Teen Therapy in Florida
Find answers to common questions about therapy for children and teens, including anxiety, emotional regulation, behavior concerns, trauma, school challenges, and parent involvement
How do I know if my child or teenager needs therapy?
Therapy helps children and teens better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen self-esteem, improve communication, and build resilience.
Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, emotional outbursts, trauma, school stress, friendship challenges, grief, family changes, or difficulty managing emotions, therapy provides a safe and supportive space to develop skills that help both now and in the future.
The goal isn’t simply to reduce unwanted behaviors; it’s to help your child better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop lifelong emotional skills.
What ages do you work with?
I provide therapy for children and adolescents who may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, life transitions, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, grief, or relationship challenges. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your child’s needs and determine whether we’re a good fit.
What happens during the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to get to know both you and your child.
We’ll discuss your concerns, your child’s strengths, their developmental history, and what you’ve been noticing at home, school, or in other environments. Depending on your child’s age and comfort level, part of the session may involve meeting together before giving your child or teen space to begin building trust individually.
The first session isn’t about expecting your child to open up immediately. It’s about creating a safe, supportive foundation where healing and connection can begin naturally.
Will you tell me everything my child says in therapy?
Therapy works best when children and teens have a space where they feel safe to be honest. While parents remain an important part of the therapeutic process, I also respect your child’s privacy. I’ll regularly communicate about progress, treatment goals, and ways you can support your child at home, while keeping personal conversations confidential unless there’s a concern involving safety or risk of harm.
What if my child doesn't want to come to therapy?
This is incredibly common. Many children and teens feel nervous about meeting someone new or talking about difficult emotions. My goal isn’t to force conversations—it’s to build trust, create safety, and move at a pace that feels comfortable. Often, once children realize therapy isn’t about being judged or “fixed,” they begin to engage more naturally.
How can therapy help my child or teenager?
Therapy helps children and teens better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, improve communication, strengthen self-esteem, and build resilience. Whether they’re navigating anxiety, trauma, school stress, family changes, or social challenges, therapy provides tools that support emotional growth both now and in the future.
Do you use EMDR therapy with children and teens?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. EMDR therapy can be an effective approach for helping children and adolescents process traumatic experiences, reduce anxiety, and heal from distressing memories in a developmentally appropriate way. Every treatment plan is individualized based on your child’s needs, readiness, and goals.
Will therapy involve play, conversation, or both?
That depends on your child’s age, developmental level, personality, and treatment goals.
With younger children, therapy may include play-based activities, creative interventions, games, drawing, or storytelling to help them express emotions in developmentally appropriate ways. Older children and teenagers often benefit from a combination of conversation, skill-building, and evidence-based approaches tailored to their needs.
Every child is different, and therapy is individualized to meet them where they are—not where they’re expected to be.
How involved are parents in the therapy process?
Parents play an essential role in their child’s progress. Depending on your child’s age and treatment goals, we’ll regularly collaborate to discuss progress, provide guidance, and explore strategies you can use at home to support your child’s emotional well-being. Therapy is most effective when parents and the therapist work as a team.
Do you offer online therapy for children and teens in Florida?
Yes. I provide secure online therapy for children and adolescents throughout Florida. Many young clients adapt very well to virtual therapy, and sessions can be engaging, interactive, and effective while allowing families the convenience of receiving care from home.
How long will my child need therapy?
Every child is unique, and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all timeline. Some children benefit from short-term therapy focused on a specific concern, while others may benefit from longer-term support as they work through more complex challenges. We’ll regularly review progress together and adjust treatment based on your child’s needs and goals.
What if I'm not sure therapy is the right next step?
It’s completely okay to have questions. Many parents reach out because they simply want guidance or reassurance about what their child is experiencing. A free 15-minute consultation gives us the opportunity to discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and determine whether therapy is the right fit for your family. You don’t have to make that decision alone.
Frequently ask questions about Trauma 101 Group Therapy
Learn what to expect from Trauma 101, a psychoeducational trauma group designed to help adults better understand trauma, the nervous system, and practical coping skills in a safe, supportive environment.
Is Trauma 101 the same as individual therapy?
No. While both can support your healing journey, they serve different purposes.
Trauma 101 is a psychoeducational group designed to help you better understand how trauma affects the brain, body, emotions, and relationships. You’ll learn practical skills, gain insight into common trauma responses, and discover that many of your experiences make sense in the context of what you’ve been through. Although participants are welcome to share if they feel comfortable, the focus is on learning, building awareness, and developing tools—not processing personal trauma in depth.
Individual therapy, on the other hand, is a personalized experience tailored specifically to you. It provides a private space to explore your unique experiences, process traumatic memories, develop individualized coping strategies, and work toward your personal goals. Depending on your needs, individual therapy may also include approaches such as EMDR therapy and other evidence-based treatments
Many people find that participating in Trauma 101 alongside individual therapy provides the best of both worlds—education, community, and personalized support. Others begin with Trauma 101 to better understand themselves before deciding whether individual therapy is the right next step.
Is Trauma 101 appropriate for someone with PTSD or childhood trauma?
Many individuals living with the effects of trauma, including childhood trauma or PTSD, may benefit from psychoeducation and trauma-informed support. However, Trauma 101 is not a replacement for individualized treatment. During your consultation, we’ll determine whether this group is the most appropriate level of care for your needs.
How do I join Trauma 101?
The first step is to schedule a consultation. During that conversation, we’ll discuss your goals, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether Trauma 101 is the right fit for you.
Is Trauma 101 held online?
Trauma 101 is currently offered online, allowing adults throughout Florida to participate from the comfort of their own home. In-person groups in Port St. Lucie are also planned based on participant interest and enrollment. If enough individuals are interested, additional in-person group options will be offered.
Do I need to have experienced "big T" trauma to join Trauma 101?
No. Trauma isn’t defined by the event itself—it’s defined by how the experience affected your nervous system.
While some people have experienced abuse, assault, accidents, or other major life events, others have been impacted by childhood emotional neglect, chronic stress, bullying, unhealthy relationships, medical experiences, or growing up in environments where they didn’t consistently feel emotionally safe.
Trauma 101 isn’t about comparing experiences or deciding whose pain “counts.” It’s about understanding how past experiences continue to influence your present and learning practical tools that support healing.
How do I know if Trauma 101 is the right first step for me?
If you’ve been wondering why you react the way you do after difficult experiences, struggle with anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, or feel like your past continues to affect your present, Trauma 101 may be a meaningful place to begin.
This psychoeducational trauma group is designed for individuals who want to better understand the impact of trauma before—or alongside—individual therapy. You’ll learn how trauma affects the brain, nervous system, emotions, and relationships while developing practical coping skills in a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before joining. During your free 15-minute consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, answer your questions, and determine whether Trauma 101, individual trauma therapy (add hypgerlink), EMDR therapy (add hyperlink), family therapy (add hyperlink) or another service is the best fit for your unique needs.
Is Trauma 101 group therapy or a class?
Trauma 101 is a psychoeducational trauma therapy group that combines education, guided discussion, and practical coping skills in a safe, supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Unlike traditional process groups, the focus isn’t on asking you to share your personal trauma. Instead, you’ll learn how trauma affects the brain, nervous system, emotions, relationships, and everyday life while developing practical tools that support healing.
You’re always welcome to share your experiences if you feel comfortable, but there is never any pressure to disclose personal details. Many participants find that simply understanding why they respond the way they do is healing in itself.
What if I'm not ready to talk about my trauma?
That’s completely okay. In fact, many people join Trauma 101 because they’re looking to better understand their experiences before they’re ready to talk about them in depth.
Trauma 101 is a psychoeducational trauma group, not a trauma processing group. The focus is on helping you understand how trauma affects the brain, nervous system, emotions, and relationships while learning practical tools to support your healing. You’re welcome to participate by listening, learning, asking questions, or simply reflecting on the material.
Healing doesn’t begin by forcing yourself to revisit painful memories. It begins by feeling safe enough to understand your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you. Your boundaries will always be respected
Can I participate if I'm already in individual therapy?
Absolutely. Many people participate in Trauma 101 while also attending individual therapy.
Trauma 101 provides education, practical coping skills, and the opportunity to learn alongside others who may have similar experiences. Individual therapy, on the other hand, offers personalized support for processing your own experiences and working toward your individual goals.
Many clients find that combining both creates a well-rounded healing experience by bringing together education, community, and individualized treatment. Depending on your needs, we may also discuss whether Trauma Therapy or EMDR Therapy would be beneficial alongside the group.
Can I do this while seeing another therapist?
Absolutely. In many cases, group therapy can complement the work you’re already doing in individual therapy. While individual therapy provides space to focus on your personal experiences and goals, group therapy offers the opportunity to learn from others, practice new skills, receive support, and realize you’re not alone in what you’re experiencing.
If you’re currently working with another therapist, I encourage you to let them know you’re interested in joining a therapy group. With your written permission, I’m also happy to collaborate with your individual therapist, when appropriate, to help ensure your care is coordinated and aligned with your overall treatment goals.
Frequently Asked Questions about EMDR therapy
Learn how EMDR therapy works, who it’s for, what to expect during treatment, and how it can help people heal from trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and other distressing life experiences
What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based psychotherapy designed to help the brain process and heal from traumatic or distressing life experiences. It is one of the most researched treatments for trauma and is recognized by organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
When overwhelming experiences aren’t fully processed, they can remain “stuck” in the nervous system. This may contribute to anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks, overthinking, emotional triggers, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or feeling as though the past continues to affect your present.
During EMDR therapy, we use bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help your brain reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional intensity. The goal isn’t to erase your memories. It’s to help your brain store them as experiences from the past rather than wounds that continue to feel present.
As an EMDR Certified Therapist, I tailor each session to your individual needs. We begin by building coping skills, emotional regulation, and a strong sense of safety before moving into trauma processing. EMDR therapy can be provided both virtually throughout Florida and in person when clinically appropriate.
Many people describe EMDR as the first time they can remember what happened without feeling like they’re reliving it. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting your story; it means reclaiming it.
Does EMDR therapy actually work?
Yes. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the most well-researched, evidence-based treatments for trauma and PTSD. It is recognized by organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Rather than simply teaching you how to cope with painful memories, EMDR helps your brain process experiences that may have become “stuck.” As those memories become fully processed, many people notice that the emotional intensity decreases, triggers become less overwhelming, and they feel more present in their daily lives.
Whether you’re struggling with childhood trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, grief, relationship wounds, or distressing life experiences, EMDR therapy can be an effective part of your healing journey.
Can EMDR help with childhood trauma?
Yes. Many adults continue to experience emotional responses connected to childhood experiences that were never fully processed at the time they occurred.
EMDR therapy helps the brain reprocess those earlier experiences so they no longer trigger the same emotional intensity in the present. Many clients find that processing childhood memories through trauma therapy helps reduce anxiety, emotional reactivity, and relationship patterns connected to those experiences.
EMDR therapy can help individuals move forward while feeling less controlled by the emotional impact of past events.
Will I Have to Relive the Experience?
Not in the way many people fear.
EMDR therapy does involve recalling difficult memories, emotions, thoughts, or body sensations related to past experiences. However, the goal isn’t to make you relive your trauma or become overwhelmed by it. Instead, we’ll work together at a pace that feels safe and manageable while helping your brain process what happened.
Throughout the session, you’ll remain aware of where you are, and I’ll be there to guide and support you every step of the way. Before we begin trauma reprocessing, we’ll also spend time developing coping skills and resources to help you feel prepared.
The goal of EMDR isn’t to erase your memories. It’s to reduce the emotional distress attached to them so you can remember what happened without feeling as though you’re still living it.
What if I don’t remember everything clearly?
You don’t need to remember every detail for EMDR therapy to be effective.
Trauma is often stored through emotions, body sensations, beliefs, and images—not just clear memories. Even if parts of an experience feel blurry or incomplete, your nervous system often remembers more than your conscious mind can explain.
We’ll work with whatever naturally comes up during therapy. There is no pressure to remember every detail or have the “perfect” memory before beginning treatment.
Is EMDR therapy safe?
Yes. When provided by a trained EMDR therapist, EMDR is considered a safe and evidence-based treatment for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and other distressing life experiences.
Your safety and emotional well-being are always the priority. Before we begin processing traumatic memories, we’ll spend time building coping skills, strengthening internal resources, and creating a sense of safety and stability. This preparation helps your nervous system feel supported and better equipped for the healing process.
EMDR therapy moves at a pace that respects your comfort level and emotional readiness. You remain in control throughout the session, and we can slow down, pause, or stop whenever needed. Healing isn’t about forcing your brain to process faster—it’s about creating the conditions where healing can happen safely.
The goal isn’t to overwhelm you. It’s to help you process difficult experiences in a way that allows you to move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and peace
Does Online EMDR Therapy Actually Work?
Yes. Research has shown that online EMDR therapy can be just as effective as in-person EMDR when provided by a trained EMDR therapist.
I use a secure platform called RemoteEMDR, which was specifically designed for virtual EMDR sessions. It provides guided bilateral stimulation in a structured and interactive way while allowing you to participate from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Many people actually find it easier to process difficult experiences in a familiar environment where they already feel safe.
How Long Does EMDR Take?
The answer depends on your unique experiences and goals.
Some people begin noticing meaningful changes within a few sessions, while others with more complex or long-standing trauma may benefit from a longer course of therapy. EMDR isn’t about rushing the healing process—it’s about allowing your brain and nervous system the time they need to fully process difficult experiences.
Not every therapy session is an EMDR processing session. We also spend time building coping skills, strengthening emotional regulation, reviewing progress, and making sure you feel supported throughout treatment.
Healing isn’t measured by how fast you finish; it’s measured by how differently your life begins to feel.
Will I Feel Worse After Sessions?
Sometimes.
It’s normal to feel emotionally tired, reflective, or notice memories, dreams, or emotions surfacing after an EMDR session. This doesn’t mean therapy is making things worse; it often means your brain is continuing to process between sessions.
We’ll talk about what to expect beforehand, and you’ll leave each session with coping strategies and grounding techniques to help support your nervous system.
For most people, these temporary reactions become less intense over time as healing continues.
Can EMDR Help Anxiety or Overthinking?
Absolutely—especially when anxiety or overthinking is connected to unresolved experiences.
Many people spend years trying to manage symptoms without addressing what’s driving them. EMDR helps process the experiences that taught your brain to stay on high alert.
As those memories become less distressing, many clients notice reduced anxiety, fewer intrusive thoughts, less overthinking, greater emotional regulation, and an increased sense of calm.
The goal isn’t simply to manage symptoms—it’s to help your nervous system stop believing it’s still in danger.
How Do I Know If EMDR Is Right for Me?
We’ll figure that out together.
Not everyone needs EMDR right away, and not every therapy session involves EMDR processing. During your consultation and early sessions, we’ll take time to understand your history, current concerns, goals, and emotional readiness before deciding whether EMDR is the right approach.
If EMDR is appropriate, we’ll begin by building a strong foundation of coping skills, emotional regulation, and internal resources before moving into deeper processing.
My goal isn’t to fit you into a specific therapy model; it’s to find the approach that best supports your healing

Frequently Asked Questions about Family Therapy in Florida
Learn how family therapy can improve communication, strengthen relationships, resolve conflict, and help families navigate life’s challenges together.
What is family therapy?
Family therapy is a collaborative process that helps families improve communication, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s challenges together.
Rather than focusing on one person as “the problem,” family therapy looks at the patterns, interactions, and relationships that influence the family as a whole. Together, we’ll work toward healthier communication, greater understanding, stronger emotional connections, and practical solutions that support lasting change.
Whether your family is experiencing conflict, parenting challenges, adolescent concerns, trauma, divorce, or major life transitions, family therapy provides a safe space to better understand one another and move forward together..
Who should attend family therapy?
The people who attend family therapy depend on your family’s unique needs. Sometimes everyone participates, while other times only certain family members attend specific sessions. During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss who would benefit most from being involved and create a plan that supports your family’s goals.
What issues can family therapy help with?
Family therapy can help families experiencing communication difficulties, parent-child conflict, adolescent behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, blended family challenges, divorce or separation, grief, life transitions, and relationship stress.
It can also benefit families who simply want to strengthen their relationships, improve emotional connection, develop healthier communication patterns, and better support one another through everyday challenges.
You don’t have to wait until your family reaches a crisis point. Many families discover that seeking support early helps prevent small challenges from becoming larger ones
Will my child or teenager have to talk if they don't want to?
No. Building trust takes time, especially for children and teens. I never force anyone to share before they’re ready. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where each family member feels respected and comfortable participating at their own pace.
What if one family member doesn't want to attend therapy?
This is more common than many people realize. While having everyone participate can be beneficial, meaningful change can still begin even if not every family member is ready to attend. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your family’s situation and explore the best path forward.
How long does family therapy usually last?
Every family’s journey is different. Some families benefit from short-term support focused on a specific concern, while others choose longer-term therapy to work through more complex or long-standing patterns. Together, we’ll regularly review your progress and adjust treatment based on your family’s goals.
Is everything shared during family therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of therapy, but family therapy has unique considerations since multiple people are involved. During our first session, we’ll review confidentiality, privacy, and expectations so everyone understands how information is handled and feels comfortable participating.
Do you offer online family therapy in Florida?
Yes. I provide secure online family therapy for families located anywhere in Florida. Virtual sessions allow family members to participate from the comfort of home while maintaining privacy and convenience.
What if our family argues during a session?
Conflict is often one of the reasons families seek therapy, so disagreements may naturally arise. My role is to help create a safe, respectful space where everyone has the opportunity to be heard. Therapy isn’t about deciding who’s right or wrong—it’s about understanding one another, improving communication, and developing healthier ways to work through conflict together.
Can family therapy help if my teenager won't talk to me anymore?
Yes.
Many families seek therapy because communication has broken down. Sometimes teens withdraw because they don’t feel understood, while parents feel frustrated because they don’t know how to reconnect.
Family therapy creates a safe, structured environment where each person has the opportunity to feel heard without blame or judgment. Rather than focusing on who’s right or wrong, we’ll work together to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen your relationship one conversation at a time.
Will you take sides?
No. My role is to support the family as a whole rather than taking sides. I strive to create a balanced, nonjudgmental environment where every family member feels heard, respected, and understood while we work toward shared goals.
How do I know if family therapy is right for us?
If your family feels stuck in recurring conflict, struggles to communicate, is navigating a major life transition, or simply wants to strengthen relationships, family therapy may be a valuable next step. You don’t have to wait until things reach a crisis point to seek support. Many families find that early intervention helps prevent challenges from becoming more overwhelming over time.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
