About Therapy
🧠 Why you still feel this way
Most people don’t come to therapy because they can’t cope. They come because they’ve coped for too long.
- You adapted to what you were given.
- You learned how to function.
- You learned how to hold things in.
But the nervous system doesn’t forget what it had to manage. Even when life moves forward, your body may still respond to old environments, old roles, and old expectations. Many adults experiencing anxiety, emotional shutdown, or overthinking are reacting to unresolved stress or trauma stored in the nervous system.
That constant internal preparation can feel like anxiety, numbness, irritability, or emotional distance. Often, it’s unresolved protection.
You are not “too much.” Your system learned to survive.
🧩 How I Understand Trauma
Trauma isn’t only extreme events.
Trauma can be any experience that overwhelmed your system and didn’t fully process at the time. This is why people often seek trauma therapy even when they don’t initially label their experiences as trauma.
It can look like:
- growing up needing to be the responsible one
- emotional experiences being minimized
- environments where you had to stay alert
- feeling unseen or unsupported in ways that shaped how you cope
When those experiences aren’t resolved, they become patterns — not because you’re flawed, but because your nervous system is still protecting you.
✨ What We Do in Therapy
Therapy here focuses on resolving, not just managing symptoms.
I provide trauma-informed therapy and EMDR therapy through secure online therapy sessions available throughout Florida. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain process experiences that were never fully processed when they happened, reducing ongoing nervous system activation.
How We Work Together
- We slow things down.
- We notice patterns.
- We understand what your reactions are protecting.
- And we update old information so the present stops feeling like the past.
What You Can Expect
- You won’t be rushed.
- You won’t be forced to relive experiences before you’re ready.
- But we also won’t stay only at the surface if you’re ready for relief.
🌿 What Sessions Feel Like
Grounded. Direct. Steady.
There is compassion — and there is accountability
- You don’t have to perform wellness.
- You don’t have to minimize your reactions.
- You don’t have to convince me your experience matters.
Clients often notice reduced anxiety, fewer trauma responses, and more emotional steadiness as therapy progresses.
Relief comes when your body no longer has to brace.
🧭 A Note on Identity
Experiences don’t happen outside context.
As a Latina therapist, I understand how family roles, culture, and lived experience shape how people cope and what they carry.
You won’t have to translate or filter those parts of yourself here.
🎓 Professional Background
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a certified EMDR therapist providing telehealth trauma therapy for adults and adolescents across Florida.
My background includes hospital-based work, community advocacy, and private practice — environments where I learned to work steadily with complex trauma and stress-related concerns.
🌟 What Change Looks Like
Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means your reactions begin to match your present instead of your past.
- You can rest without guilt.
- You can respond instead of brace.
- You can feel steady instead of constantly managing yourself.
If you’ve been holding everything together for a long time, therapy can be where you finally set some of it down.
- You’re allowed to stop bracing.
- You’re allowed to feel relief.
